Privacy Policy
Effective: October 22, 2026
Dometown (穹顶小镇) is a game made by Kuo Mu, an independent developer. This policy explains what we collect, what we use it for, how long we keep it, and how you can control it. “We” means the developer.
In short
- We collect only what the game needs: an account, your colony, the notes and messages between you and your neighbors, and a push address for reminders.
- No ads. We don’t track you, and we don’t sell your information.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time. It’s fully deleted within 7 days.
- Players under 13 can’t type their own names or notes, so we collect nothing that could identify a child.
1. What we collect
Your account
- When you tap Start, we create a guest account. It has only a random ID; you don’t fill anything in.
- When you save your colony with Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple gives this app. If Apple also provides an email address (you can choose Hide My Email, and Apple gives us a relay address), it’s stored with your account. We don’t use it for ads or marketing. We don’t ask Apple for your name.
Your colony
- Your colony’s name, what neighbors call you, your flag, your zone and plot number, level, population, livability, the kinds and positions of your buildings, and your like and visit counts.
- A backup of your whole game save (buildings, resources, achievements and the rest of your progress).
Between you and other players
- Your invite code and who joined with it, your friends, and the players you’ve blocked.
- The notes you write, and the notes others leave on your guestbook.
- In-game messages (who left you a note, who added you as a friend, who came to help…).
- Likes and visits (who visited on which day).
- Reports: who reported which name or note, and the reason chosen.
- Helping out: which building work you asked neighbors to help with and when it ends, who came to help you, and whom you helped.
- Gifts: who gave whom which look, and the line that came with it.
- Neighborhood oasis: what goods you gave your neighborhood, how much and when, and how far the neighborhood has built.
Your device and how you play
- Push address: after you allow notifications, Apple gives us a push address (a push token), which we use for in-game reminders. While a supply ship is on its way, its Live Activity on the Lock Screen has one too, used to update it when the ship lands.
- Language: so reminders are in your language.
- When you last opened the app: neighbors can see whether you’re “online” (used in the last 5 minutes), and only neighbors who are online are asked to come and help.
- Age range: from Apple’s Declared Age Range, only “under 13”, “13 to 17” or “18 and over”. We never see your birthday. If you don’t share it, we don’t know your age range.
- Network (IP) address: our server records it when your device connects, to stop mass sign-ups and to fix problems.
Purchases
- Payment is handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details or see your Apple Account.
- Looks you buy for yourself are confirmed by the App Store on your device; our server doesn’t record what you bought.
- Looks you buy as a gift: the app sends our server the App Store’s signed record of that purchase (transaction number, product, time of purchase). We check it before the gift is sent, and keep the transaction number so the same purchase can’t be used twice.
What we don’t collect
- Location (the game’s “zones” are places you choose on the Moon), contacts, camera, microphone, your photo library or health data.
- Photos in the game’s album stay on your device. “Share with friends” uses iOS sharing; we can’t see who you share with.
- The advertising identifier (IDFA). We don’t track you, and we share nothing with data brokers.
- We use no third-party analytics or advertising tools. If you agree in your iPhone settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple sends us crash reports that contain nothing that identifies you.
2. How we use it
- To run the game: keep your colony and progress, show your colony to your neighbors, and make invites, friends, notes, messages and gifts work.
- To send reminders: a new note, a friend request, a request for help, a supply ship landing. You can turn them off at any time.
- To keep everyone safe: filter inappropriate names and notes, handle reports and blocks, prevent cheating and mass sign-ups.
- To fix problems: track down faults and crashes.
We don’t use your information for advertising, or for anything unrelated to the game.
3. Who can see it
- Other players can see your colony’s name, what neighbors call you, your flag, plot, level, population, livability, how your buildings look, whether you’re online, your likes, and how much you’ve given to the neighborhood oasis; and the notes you leave on other guestbooks (the board’s owner and its visitors can see them). Players you’ve blocked can’t see your names or notes.
- Other players can’t see your save, messages, friend requests, block list or reports.
-
We don’t sell or rent your information. Only two companies help us run the service:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and server code. The servers are in Tokyo, Japan.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications, App Store purchases and Game Center.
They process information under their agreements with us and protect it at least as well as this policy does. - If the law requires it (for example, a court order), we may have to provide information.
4. How long we keep it
- Account, colony and save: until you delete your account.
- Guest accounts: deleted automatically if they don’t land a colony within 30 days. Guest accounts that are playing are never deleted.
- Notes: they stay on the guestbook, and you can delete your own at any time. Notes taken down by the board’s owner, or hidden after reports, are deleted 30 days later (once any open report about them is resolved). When you delete your account, the notes you wrote are deleted with it.
- Messages: deleted after six months.
- Records of gifts and help (including a gift’s transaction number): deleted when either player deletes their account; help requests that have ended are cleared out over time.
- Neighborhood oasis: how far the neighborhood has built is kept. What you gave counts toward the neighborhood’s progress; when you delete your account your name is taken off it and only the amounts stay.
- Visit records: deleted after 8 weeks.
- Push notifications: deleted 7 days after they’re sent; push addresses are deleted as soon as they stop working.
- Resolved reports: deleted after one year. We keep them that long to spot accounts that break the rules again and again.
- Sign-in records and access logs with network addresses: kept for 30 days at most.
- The server is backed up once a day and backups are kept for 7 days, so deleted information is gone from the backups within another 7 days.
5. Deleting your account
- In the app, go to Settings › Delete Account. Guest accounts can be deleted too.
- As soon as you confirm, your colony disappears from everyone’s screen, your save and friendships are deleted, and other players can no longer see your notes.
- Everything else (account, notes, messages, likes, visits) is deleted within 7 days, and we send you a notification when it’s done. Your plot is freed up for new players.
- If you’ve used Sign in with Apple, you’ll confirm with Apple once more, and we ask Apple to revoke this app’s authorization. You can also stop using it in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple.
- Looks you’ve bought stay with your Apple Account; deleting your game account doesn’t change Apple’s purchase records.
6. Players under 13
- We use Apple’s age range to confirm age; we never ask for a birthday.
- If the system tells us you’re under 13, or you haven’t shared your age range:
- you pick your colony’s name and what neighbors call you from a list, instead of typing them;
- notes can only use the preset phrases;
- friends can only be added with an invite code, so only people you know.
- That way we collect only the account ID, save and push address the game needs to run, and nothing that could identify a child. If we learn later that a player is under 13, the names and notes they typed before are deleted.
- We use the account ID, push address and network address only to run the game: saving progress, showing colonies to neighbors, sending reminders, and stopping abuse and fixing problems. We never use them for advertising, to profile a child, or to contact a child.
- Parents can delete a child’s account in the app at any time, or write to us to have it deleted. With Family Sharing, parents manage a child’s purchases (Ask to Buy) and whether their age range is shared. See also the Parents’ Guide.
7. Security
- Everything between your device and our server is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Players can’t read or write the database directly, only through server code that first checks who they are and what they may do.
- Only the developer can use the server’s admin tools.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
8. Your rights
- See and export: write to us and we’ll send you your information, including your save.
- Correct: change your colony’s name, what neighbors call you and your flag in the app at any time (Colony Card › Name & Flag).
- Delete: see section 5.
- Turn off reminders: Settings › Notifications in the app, or your iPhone’s settings.
- In the EU, the UK and elsewhere: we process your information to provide the game (contract), to keep the game safe and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), and to send the push notifications you allowed (consent). You can object to some processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority. Your information is stored in Japan, which the EU and the UK recognize as providing adequate data protection.
- We reply within 30 days.
9. Changes
We’ll tell you in the app before important changes take effect; for small ones, we update the effective date here.
